Iggy Azalea rant on Twitter says Label president dont want to see her shine
It really seems like Iggy Azalea cannot catch a break
when it comes to her music. After taking a step back
from the lyrical world, the Australian rapper started off
the New Year with her new viral track “Azillion” to build
momentum for her upcoming album Digital Distortion.
However, it’s looking like Iggy has hit yet another road
block when it comes to her moving forward with her
new project. Earlier this morning she took to her
official twitter to have yet another rant session. She
said, “Bad news update:my record label Virgin/EMI
seems to feel the response to my viral record ‘Zillon’
wasnt good enough & I’m not allowed a video.”
She then went into further explanation stating that she
felt that the track was great but Ted Cockle, the
president of her label, Virgin EMI, doesn’t want to see
her shine. A fan responded and suggested that she just
drop her label and she said, “im trying to switch to just
Def Jam but cockle is making it hard.” Iggy is signed to
Def Jam here in the U.S. and is signed to Virgin EMI
over in the U.K., both labels which are under Universal
Music Group.
In the end Iggy has seem to found one solution to her
problems. She jokingly ended her rant by saying, “If all
else fails ill just drive around LA and play my new
album really loudly every monday from 4-6pm hahaha.”
Can’t blame her for being persistant when it comes to
getting her music heard dispite the constant backlash.
